Tony C. Sealy

Mr. Tony Claude Sealy, retired Licensed Professional Engineer at Savannah River Site, entered into rest on Wednesday February 23, 2022 at the age of 77.

All his life, his intellect could not be smoldered, he eagerly pursued a number of activities and topics with pure curiosity and unusual talent. In his earlier years he worked alongside his Father with a small side business of repairing TVs and radios, he was a drummer in the Leavelle McCampbell High School Band, worked for Joe Lista as a photographer. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Electrical Engineering, he immediately was employed by Dupont at SRS, where he participated in such vital Cold War missions as L Reactor startup, and later DWPF. His hobbies later lead him to obtained a student pilot license, became a licensed Amateur Radio Operator, enjoyed Blacksmithing, learned to scuba dive and owned Italian sports cars. In later years, he became a fine wood craftsman, helped design and build an aquaponics greenhouse, and was part of the design team who installed the Foucault pendulum in Ruth Patrick Science Center. In all his pursuits, he remained a true gentleman, a refined spirit, patient and kind, good humored, loyal to his friends and devoted to his family.

In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Mrs. Sara Keith Sealy, he is survived by his daughter, Karyn Sealy Bland (Hugh Mitchell Bland, Jr.) of Edgefield; and dear sister, Joanne Sealy Yeater of Warrenville.

He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin A. Sealy, retired Marine, and Irene Beard Sealy of Warrenville.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12 P.M. in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the service.

Interment will be held on Sunday February 27, 2022 at Union Memorial Gardens at 1720 Whitmire Highway, Union, South Carolina, 29379 at 3 P.M.

An example to us all, a life lived with love and humility and steadfast Christian faith, and the response was that all loved him in return. Then, to go on to enter into the greatest mystery of peace beyond this eternal life, peacefully at his home in Aiken, was a gentle transition for a kind soul.

Great men and heroes are especial gifts of God, men who He gives and upholds, who carry on their work and calling, and do great deeds. - Martin Luther, leading figure of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century

Guestbook

Just read about Tony's passing. He was a cherished neighbor of over 30 years and we were fortunate to know him and his family. We're now in Black Mountain, NC but do wish to pass along our condolences to those left behind.

To the family. I never met Mr. Sealy but from reading the Obit in Union's paper, I can feel the love and respect the family had for him. Death in God's Word, is described as the Enemy! So none of us want to experience it, but most of us have lost loved ones to the enemy. Though it has us in it's grips now, there is Hope. Written at Jeremiah 29:11 is a promise of a future, and Revelation 21: 3&4, tells us that God will spread his tent over mankind. So an earthly hope. What a loving God to undo all the evil that Satan the Devil has done! Sincerely
