Sara Hammett Efird

October 31, 1935 — March 3, 2022

Mrs. Sara Hammett Efird entered into rest Thursday March 3, 2022.

Born in Aiken County to the late John C. and Jenny Ruth Hammett, Mrs. Efird worked for the Graniteville Company, and was a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church. To know her was to love her. She was widely known as an outgoing, loving, funny, and caring woman. She always found good, even in the bad. Her most favorite thing was being with, and taking care of her family. She will be remembered for being a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert “Bobby” Lever Efird; and her brother J.D. Hammett.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay Gordon, Teresa McNair; brothers Donnie (Judy) Hammett, Ronnie (Evelyn) Hammett; sisters, Barbara Williams, Joyce McMullen; sister-in-law, Faye Hammett; grandchildren, Susan Johnson, Thomas Franklin, Jason (Amanda) Franklin; and great granddaughter, Ryann Marie Rhoden.

A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be held 1 P.M. Monday March 7, 2022 at the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Sessions to officiate and the burial to follow at The Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be John Hammett, Ronald Hammett, Grayson Hammett, Clay Whitt, Larry Harris, and Ken Harris.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Sara’s memory be made to Graniteville First Baptist Church 76 Canal St Graniteville, SC 29829.
