Polly Sue Pennington

July 17, 1935 — March 25, 2022

Polly Sue Pennington of Graniteville, SC passed peacefully with family around her at her home Friday, March 25, 2022.

Polly Sue Johnson  was born July 17, 1935 in Royston, GA, to Waymon and Flora Johnson. She had a brother, the late Buck Johnson and a sister, Cheryl Johnson.

She married the late Walter Pennington in July 1971.

She was loving mother to Stanley Fleming and LeAnne Pennington Kneece and loving grandmother to Russell, Nathan, Joshua, and Justin.    She was a member, a Sunday School teacher, and secretary for several years at Warrenville Church of God.  She loved to cook for her family and keep a perfect, most comfortable home.  She loved to sing and play guitar for the Lord and even wrote a few songs and poems.  She was always a very busy, very strong and independent lady who enjoyed taking care of her family and making sure each one had everything they needed. She loved her vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains but was always glad to get back to her home.   She loved to just ride through the country and see all of God’s creation.   Over the years she grew to love motorcycle riding with her husband.  When she was finally unable to get out of the house, she still found a way to travel and see the world.  She never gave up.  She will be greatly missed.

In addition to those listed she is survived by nieces Freida Kelly, Eva Fancher; and nephew Brian Worley.

A private family funeral will be held in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Tuesday March 29, 2022 with Pastor Brian Cockrell officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville.

The ladies who helped care for her did everything they could to make sure she was comfortable and have everything she needed at her fingertips.   She was a mother and friend to them while having great conversations.  Thank you to those who have cared for and loved her over the past 2 ½ years:  Jessica Taylor, Sara Runyon, Alana Williamson, Tabatha Smith, Norma Hall, and Fran Price.

Napier Funeral Home, Inc. 315 Main St. Graniteville, SC 29829, has been entrusted with these arrangements. To send an expression of sympathy, you may visit the guestbook at www.napierfh.com
