Erlene H. Brown

Mrs. Erlene H. Brown, age 83, of Warrenville, South Carolina found her peace on Thursday the 16th of September 2021 at Lexington Medical Center. Erlene was a graduate of LBC Highschool in 1956 and became a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an advocate of hard work, not retiring until age 80, having outlived many of the companies for which she worked. Renowned for her kindness, she gave an abundance of love to the world and to the people she met throughout her life. She was selfless and always put the needs of people she loved before her own. An advocate of helping those in need she donated often to many different charities and causes. Stubborn and honest when she spoke, Erlene was never afraid to take her own path and tell you precisely what was on her mind. The center of her world was her family and she enjoyed sharing many adventures with her children and grandchild. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed summers going to numerous baseball games with her grandson. Along with being her baseball partner, her grandson, Billy, was her “golden child” and they had many amazing adventures and experiences together. Her smile, laugh, and love will be missed by an entire generation of people from the Valley and beyond. The world was left a better place for her having been in it.

Erlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie G. Brown as well as her parents Robert Bob Hammond and Doris Taylor Hammond, her brother Bobby Hammond, her son Donnie Jerry Brown, and a special great nephew Robert Shane Hammond.
Her memory will be carried on by two daughters, Nancy Darlene Brown and Erlene Donnette Covar as well as her grandson William “Billy” H. Baldwin.

A celebration of life will be held graveside at Warrenville Cemetery on Saturday, October 9th at 1PM. Everyone is welcome and if you wish to say some words about Erlene the family invites you to please share your memories. The family ask that in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Erlene’s name to the Aiken TNR Network, a non-profit that helps with the health and population of stray cats in the CSRA or to the Aiken Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons. Both of these organizations were close to Erlene’s heart and she regularly donated to help them. Donations can be made to the TNR Network at 1947 Huckleberry Dr Aiken, SC 29803 or on their website and to the Cumbee Center at 254 Beaufort St NE, Aiken, SC 29801 or on their website.
