Sarah Thompson Durden

April 7, 1934 — January 6, 2020

Sarah Thompson Durden, age 85, beloved wife of the late Tommy Durden, went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 6th, 2020 at her home.

She is survived by her son Richard Durden; sisters, Dessie Hostillo, Evelyn Beckham, Marvelene Yaunker; daughter in law, Gail Durden; son in law, Preston Bishop; grandchildren, Thomas Durden, Tjuana (Ryan) Seidl, Eric Bishop (Abigail Wiggins), Chad (Amber) Bishop, Abigail, Lauren, Jacqueline and Ethan Seidl; and great grandchildren, Adalynn (Muke Muke) Jarrett, Nathan Bishop and Gavin Bishop.

In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her son, Anthony Durden; daughter, Brenda Bishop; parents, Guyton and Callie Wilks Thompson; and several brothers and sisters.

Sister Durden has fought a good fight and kept the faith and is now enjoying her reward in heaven. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched here on earth.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday January 11th, 2020 at 11am at Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Preston Bishop officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening January 10th, 2020 from 6-8pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be: Richard Durden, Thomas Durden, Eric Bishop, Chad Bishop, Ryan Seidl and Gregg Gibson.
