Heyward M Lott

July 27, 1925 — June 12, 2017

LOTT-Heyward M. Lott, age 91, of Aiken, S.C., widower of Lois Willis Lott and son of the late Willie E. Lott and the late Ruby Lott Lott, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 12, 2017. He is survived by a brother, Willie Lott of Jacksonville, FL.; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Wood of Altha, FL. And Linda (Richard) Dean of Warrenville, S.C.; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, David “Tootie” Wood and Donald Wood. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Graniteville Church of God. During his working years, he was a Supervisor with Graniteville Company. He was a US Marine Veteran, having bravely served his country during World War II, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, the Pacific Conflict and the Korean Conflict. He loved his family and God. He was a true friend to many and would do anything he could to help anybody. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 91 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held at the Graniteville Church of God on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brandon Key and Rev. Roger Nix Officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Pallbearers will be Roman Wood, Shawn Wood, Taylor Wood, Bryson Wood, Tristen Wood and Hayley Tunner. The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made the SPCA, 401 Wire Rd., Aiken, S.C. 29801 or to a charity of one’s choice.
