Emma L. Ready
READY-Emma L. Ready, age 87, of Graniteville, S.C., passed away on May 17, 2017, following a short hospital stay, resulting from a recent fall. She was born in Leesville, S.C. to the late Grady and Nettie Hall Lucas on January 16, 1930. Emma was happily married to the late Emery Ready and lived in Graniteville, S.C. where they raised their children; a daughter, Phyllis (Wayne) Eubanks and a son, the late Daryl Ready. She was a proud grandmother to three grandsons; Clay (Traci) Eubanks, Cody (Heather) Eubanks and Cory (Mallory) Eubanks; four great grandchildren, Dayton Eubanks, Chandler Eubanks, Madison Eubanks and Bennett Eubanks. She was also survived by a sister, Margaree Love and sisters-in-law, Doris Ready Hiers and Terry Thomas Ready, along with many nieces and nephews, all who were among her cherished treasures. “Mama Red”, as she was so fondly called, shared her heart and home with many children. They all loved her like a Grandma and will miss her also. Emma was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville, S.C. where she was a faithful choir member. She was also a member of the Graniteville Leisure Club. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the hour of service. The interment will follow the service at the Graniteville Cemetery. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers. Members of her Sunday School Class and the children that Mama Red kept in her home over the years, will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in her honor, to Calvary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 96, Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
