Beatrice Pope Spence Taylor

Taylor - Mrs. Beatrice Pope Spence Taylor, 93, of Gloverville, SC joined with the choirs of Angels rejoicing with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Optim Medical Center in Millen, on Thursday evening, March 30, 2017. Beatrice is the daughter of the late Tom A. and Lottie Mae (Bennett) Pope, and stepmother the late Clair Bell (Glisson) Pope. She was born June 27, 1923 and was a resident of Millen, Georgia for many years. While in Jenkins County, she graduated from the Lanier school. She was employed by as a seamstress for Thompson Company and Cooper’s for over 25 years. She was a long-time member and Sunday School teacher at the Long Branch Church of God. She married Rev. Buford Taylor in 1969 and moved to Gloverville, SC. She was a member of the Spoken Word Tabernacle in Beech Island, SC. She is survived by her son, Tommie M. and Cheri (Nease) Spence, grandson, Jerald W. Wright, and great grandson, Nikkolas D. Wright all of Millen, stepson, Michael Taylor, Gloverville, SC. Nieces and Nephews include Bill Pope, Fayetteville, NC, Bob and Darlene (Hall) Pope, Peachtree City, Joe and Tina Pope, Rincon, Nieces, Tommie Lee P. Mobley, Melbourne, FL, Nancy Ann P. Jackson, Savannah; and Brenda Gail P. (Larry) Sapp, Rincon. In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Joe M. Spence and her husband, Rev. Buford Taylor, a daughter, Kathryn (Kitty) S. Daughtry, and two brothers, Quinnie H. and Georgina (Vellez) Pope, and Thomas W. Pope, and niece, Sylvia Pope and nephew Quinnie A. Pope. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. and funeral services with Brother Michael Ulteiz officiating will be held 3:00 p. m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Napier Funeral Home in Graniteville, with Interment at the Sunset Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be, Bob Pope, Bill Pope, Cooper Lovett, David Jackson, Joe Pope, James Joseph Sapp. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street. Graniteville SC, 29829 is in charge of all arrangements.
