DAVIS-Mrs. Karen Maddox Davis, age 61, of Langley, S.C., loving wife of Bennie L. Davis, Jr. and daughter of the late John Maddox and the late Annie Smith Maddox, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 3, 2012. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Valerie M. Renye’ of Kingsport, TN; a brother, Charles Maddox of Bath, S.C.; five nephews, one niece, eight great nephews and one great niece. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a dedicated and very active member of Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church. With all the health problems that she experienced during her lifetime, Karen always managed to maintain a positive attitude and unwaivering faith. She never met a stranger, and she would always greet you with a pleasant smile; and yes, she could outtalk the best of us. She will surely be missed by her family and many friends; however, life for her has not ended, as God has promised eternal life for all who believe on Him, and Karen loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. She is now rejoicing in His presence. The family will receive friends at her residence, at the residence of her brother, Charles or at the funeral home, Thursday evening, September 6th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held on Friday, September 7th, at 11:00 AM at Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church, Gloverville, S.C. with Rev. Todd Blackwell officiating. The interment will follow at the Langley Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Mike Stoker, Richard Durden, Anthony Durden, Mark Bennett, James Davis and David King. The Ladies’ Auxiliary will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Napier Funeral Home, Inc, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
