PARRISH-Mr. Bobby L. Parrish of Aiken, S.C., loving and devoted husband for 57 years to Irene Kniphfer Parrish and son of the late James Cleon Parrish and the late Melvis Russell Parrish, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 3, 2012 at his residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Becky (Greg) Cole of North Augusta, S.C. and Terrie (Gary) Williams of Swainsboro, Ga.; a son, Russ (Myra) Parrish of North Augusta, S.C.; a sister, Joan Rhodes of Wrens, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James Cleon Parrish, II. He was born in Jefferson County, Ga. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a retired supervisor from Kimberly-Clark. Up to his failing health, he was a dedicated member of Warrenville First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. In the past, he worked with the R/A’s, coached little league baseball and PeeWee football. He was a loving husband, father, Pa (as he was so fondly known to his grandchildren) and friend to all. He had a great sense of humor and brought many laughs to everyone that he came in contact with. Yes, he was truly a Godly man and leader who set a good example and cared for his fellowman unconditionally. He will surely be missed by his family, many friends and all whose lives he touched during the 78 years that God granted him on this earth; however, he has just made a transition to his new Heavenly home, and he shall live on forever in everyone’s hearts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, August 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Warrenville First Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Zawislak and Rev. John Beck officiating. Furman Redd, William Hemingway, Mike Weaver and the Christian Deciples Sunday School Class of the church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The interment will be private. Memorials, in Mr. Parrish’s honor, may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, P. O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Please visit our guest register by logging on to www.napierfuneralhome.com.
